Returning an EEA Residence Card to the Home Office

Post by chaoclive » Sun Nov 01, 2015 4:15 pm

Hi there

A quick one: when a non-EEA citizen who has held an EEA Residence Card as the family member of an EEA citizen himself becomes an EEA citizen, should their RC be returned to the Home Office? Is it necessary to send it back or can we just forget about it?

Cheers

No, there is no requirement in law for the Residence Card to be returned, although it may be necessary for a BRP to be returned.
