ANY WRITTEN LAW FOR ACCOMODATION PROOF?

hi, is there any written law in any website or any form to submit tenancy agreemant, council tax, and so on of the person who will give accomodation ? or people just give it as an extra evidence? there is a space in the form, where it says to write the address and phone no of the person where we want to stay in uk. some agent told me to fill that form is enough. if they wanna check they can simply call that person in uk and make sure about it. he said submiting all these documents that are not mentioned may be suspicious. so please shed some lights here

It is still your application for EC. The ECO would not bother to call and check etc..he will just reject it saying he is not satisfied if the arrangements you have made for accomodation are good enough. It is better to be safe than sorry. You need to provide some proof of who the person inviting you is, and that he really stays there.
