Tier 2 general extension 2015

Post by ukboys09 » Mon Nov 16, 2015 3:06 pm

Hi Experts,

Visa Category: Tier 2 General
Current Visa valid from: 19/07/2013 to 14/07/2016
I am working with same sponsor & job code as previously granted and meet the salary eligibility criteria.

I have couple of questions regarding visa renewal.
1) I want to renew my visa early due personal circumstances. Is there any minimum time frame required for applying the Visa or can I renew the application now?
2) If I apply now will I get full 3 years for next extension? ( Is the total duration is 5 or 6 years)
3) Will there be any Visa start date and Visa end date on COS for Tier 2 extension?
4) What will be the start date on actual visa ( COS Start date or visa granted date or start date from end of current visa or will there be any date mentioned on COS)
5) How many days the Tier 2 extension COS is valid ( Is it three months as a normal COS)

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Shan.

1. You can apply any time up to the day preceding the expiry date of your current leave. However, if you apply too early, the expiry date of the extension will also be correspondingly earlier.
2. Yes, upto a total duration of 6years for Tier 2.
3. Yes
4. start date will be the visa granted date
3. yes , must apply within 3 months of assigning a COS.

Hi All,
thanks for the useful info. Currently i am also on tier2 General visa which is due for renewal in mid 2016. May i know, would it be good call to apply for renewal early (before end of 2015) because of the possibility of introducing restrictions to right to work for tier2 dependents in mid-December 2015.

This is referring to the

Yes you need to do a new English test as TOEIC is no longer accepted due the scam. And yes, they can check your full history/immigration record from the first time you applied.
