Can I get Tier 2(General) extension and for how long

Hi,
In July 2013, I got Tier 2(General) Visa.
I left there and went to another employer and got VISA from July 2014 till July 2017.
The COS states as Tier 2 (General - Change of Employment).
1. Can i extend my visa when the visa comes to an end
2. How many years will I get?

Tier 2 General July 2013 to July 2014 – 1 Year
Tier 2 General Change of Employment July 2014 to July 2017 – 3 Years

More likely you can only get 2 more years of extension making in total of 6 years in T2G. And it depends on you COS start date and end date provided by your company.

I would suggest, ask your employer to go for full 2 years extension so that it would allow more time for you to prepare for ILR in 2018 (Just to be in safer side, because the rules might get changed again for anything by then)

When you say ask your employer to go for full 2 years extension did you mean on the COS? You know where it says 'date assigned' and 'Expiry date' or is it just I need to tell them only?
