Tier 2 General Visa fee query

Hi,

I am applying for Tier 2 General visa.My sponsorer has issued me Cos for 2 years as below

Start date: 01 March 2016

End date: 28 February 2018

I had asked for 3 years Cos but they have come back saying 3 year COS will cost me more in terms of visa fee.

But as far as I have checked in government website it has been mentioned that Tier 2 General(up to 3 years) costs a lower fee.

I wanted to check if Tier 2 General(up to 3 years) category include COS for 3 years as well, or does it come under Tier 2 General (more than 3 years) visa fee category.

Please advise.

Yes, You are correct. So, you would have asked your employer to issue CoS upto 3 years, i.e. maximum : 1 day less than 3 years.
In your case, If 1st March, 2016 is start date of CoS then end date will be 28th Feb, 2019.
Cost upto 3 years is same. It varies only when it's from 3 years upto 5 years. Hope that helps.
