Tax ammendment: time scales?

Post by Tamara001 » Thu Dec 03, 2015 1:10 am

Dear members,

Has anybody on this forum successfully managed to get their previous tax returns amended by the Hmrc? If so, what are the approximate timescales?

Just curious, because a friend of mine wrote to the Hmrc to amend his 2010/11 tax returns in July this year, but they have not yet been amended.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

HMRC is working on 24 weeks timescale .. Chasing may bring it down to 16 weeks ... Anything earlier than that you are very lucky .

Agree with tuntun. Something extraordinary happened my case. Even person who advised me, he had to wait for 2 months. I made 2 phone calls but amendments were completed before my second phone call as date on letter is 2/12/15.

Hello all,

Has anyone else had any success in getting their tax returns from 2010/2011 amended recently. I have a feeling that HMRC will not be responding to the pending requests until end of Jan-2016.
If anyone knows a way to somehow persuade HMRC to process the amendment any sooner please do assist.

Thanks!
