Starting a new biz/joining an existing biz - Confused

Hi

I will be starting the process of my applications for the visa early next year and am in the process of preparing my business plan.

If I start my own business, would a takeover or merger later after a year or two be considered breach of rules. A little unclear on the same.

Alternatively, my business idea is pretty similar to an existing business there, which is about a decade old, and they are interested in me coming on board as a director. They want me to expand their line of work with my ideas. They have more than five times the amount of capital I intend to apply with, would that cause a problem if my business plan is structured and justifies why I want to join the existing business.

I am little confused with what path to apply. I have started planning for my own business for now.

Would appreciate an early reply.
