Overseas Income Query

Post by psd » Sun Dec 20, 2015 8:26 pm

Hi
I have applied for ILR after 5year on Tier1 General

Applied for ILR with overseas income

1. On application i have shown UK income plus overseas income which was higher than UK income as I get paid higher rate working for overseas company

They sent letter to submit following documents

1. Send Detailed correspondence between yourself and overseas employer
2. Letter from Overseas employer confirming working hours and detail description of work
3. Detail of where money sent/ Invested which was earned during employment
4. Explanation why you continue to work in uk where you were earning higher income overseas

I got response for all as below

1. Got email correspondence which I can send
2. Got letter from employer
3. I have invested in another company overseas where it was earner and got letter from that company confirming
4. I had spare time so continue to work in UK

Can some one advise if this is sufficient
Has anyone got any similar experience

Did your ascertain if there was a Double Taxation Agreement between the UK and the other country and resolved any differences with HMRC?

Generally you pay tax where the work is done but as you would still be domiciled for tax purposes in the UK you should have straightened that up, you may have tax due in the UK depending on taxation rates.

Hello PSD,

How did you go with your application and response to the questions raised by the case worker. Did you combine your UK earnings with your overseas earnings. From the questions, it seems you have sent your application by post.

Hopefully things have been successful with you. It would be nice to hear from you as I believe a few of us like myself are going the route of overseas earnings.

Thanks
