These are the basic steps simplified. Please also check on the govt website for detailed instructions
1. RLMT complete on 2 websites (Jobcenter mandatory)
2. Employer short lists candidates who meet the basic requirements.
3. Your employer needs to interview candidates who meet the basic requirements. And probably interview you as well and maintain notes.
4. Once that's complete, employer applies for RCOS online (SMS) before 5th of the month.
- If your company is not a licensed A rated sponsor, they need to apply for the sponsor license first, after which they will get the SMS login details. (this process could take time)
Post which they can apply for RCOS by logging in to the SMS (by the 5th of the month)
5. Once your employer applies for RCos,they will get a mail from the home office, requesting the for all the documents/ RLMT details which can be mailed or posted within a week or so.
6. Once submitted, they will reach a decision by the 11th of the month earliest.
7. If the RCOS is approved, your employer then assigns it to you.
8. From here on, you need to apply for tier 2 visa with your COS details. For yourself, and dependants if you want to, at the same time.
