Biometric letter sent to previous address

Post by longshift » Wed Jan 06, 2016 9:45 pm

Hi,

My friend applied for Naturalisation in November. Her both Biometric letter was sent to her previous address. She only found out by chance as she met her previous landlord in a supermarket.

Now her second biometric letter dated 18th December said that if she don't do the biometric in 10 working days, her application will be invalid.

Here's 2 questions.

1) Its 6th Jan today. She still haven't received her rejection. Does that mean that she can still do the biometric tomorrow.

2) if the application is returned as invalid. Will they refund the fees that they have charged?

Thanks for your help.

1) By my reckoning 10 working days is up to 6 Jan.

2) Yes (possibly).
The rejection warning letter tells the applicant they must enrol at a Post Office, within 10 working days of the date of the letter. If they do not, you must reject the application because the applicant has not complied with the requirement to provide their biometric information.

Once the decision is made to reject the application the applicant may be given a refund on the fee paid.

.
Was that mistake from home office due to your friend not information about change of new address or home office just by mistake followed her previous address from address history section on the form??

It was HO's mistake. She moved home in February 2015. Application was made in November 2015.

The only place they would have got that address would be from the previous address section of the form. HO is really getting sloppy.

She is going to call them tomorrow and do the biometric too, hoping that they don't invalid the application. Lets see. Will update the result in this thread.

Oh :( :(
As she not changed her address since application time November 2015 so definitely its HO mistake who possibly follow her previous address from address history section located on the form? I think she can get replacement biometric letter by calling them.

Just an update.

My friend went to post office to do her biometric and the post office lady said that if the biometric goes through in the system then her file is still active and not rejected. She did her biometric yesterday.

So even after 10 days of biometric letter she was successful in submitting her biometric details.
