Switch from Tier 2 General Dependant to Tier 2 General

Post by manikandanra » Mon Jan 11, 2016 11:20 am

Hi

I came to UK on 2013 with Tier 2 ICT Long term visa and changed my visa to Tier 2 Dependant on June 2015 (7 months before).

I have got an employer who is ready provide Tier 2 General sponsorship but not ready to hire Tier 2 Dependant holders. Please could you advise whether I have any cooling off period or I can go to my home country and apply for Tier 2 General visa if my employer provide CoS?

Thanks.

You will need to wait the full 12 months as a cooling off period before you can apply for Tier 2 General from your home country.

As a Tier 2 Dependent, you have full work rights, so I don't understand your employers stance.
