New salary requirement for changing employer within tier 2

Post by tier2man » Sat Jan 16, 2016 3:01 pm

Hi,

i am currently living in UK under tier 2 employer sponsored visa which is due to expire in August, 2016. However, I am thinking of changing my job with a new employer as I am not happy at my current company. I understand that this requires my new potential employer to be able to sponsor me, assign a CoS and consecutively I apply for a tier 2 visa (extension?).

My question is - what would be my new minimum salary requirement when I change my employer? I have seen somewhere in the ukba website that the minimum salary requirement for new professionals and experienced professionals are different. I work as a mechanical engineer and will be looking for new jobs as a mechanical engineer as well.

please help.

Many thanks.

Using your current SOC look up the codes of practice to find the experienced level of salary. That will be the minimum salary for any future extension of your visa regardless of a new employer or current employer.
