Searching for jobs before applying for EC

Post by pktamil2007 » Wed Oct 31, 2007 2:42 pm

Hi all,

The new EC forms seem to stress on the job offer. People who have already applied for EC (probably not using the new form yet), can they share their experiences of how they applied for jobs (I am into IT), while preparing their documents for EC.

Any advise /opinions would be helpful

share your experience members...

two more things are: how much time does job search takes and what are the salaries people are getting?
if people can share this info we can have an idea of average time of search and average salary packages....

Go to google and do a research. Find the companies and the skill sets those are matching. Then apply for jobs.
its better to be in person in the UK before applying for Jobs. Most employers require that you have to be in person before putting the application.

This is my piece of advice.
If the opportunity doesn't knock, build a door.

I started looking for vacancies in August. I had several telephone and video interviews until in October, one company was willing to invite me over to the UK for a final assessment, all expenses shouldered by them.
Hopefully, I'll be able to join them in January.

Well, my field is in Actuarial which is highly specialized. Also, I have US qualifications.

I just found the vacancies through a recruiter. Found them in the internet.

The problem as they say is most employers want you to be in the country for interview.

But, thats a high risk of leaving the job and going. Hence I would want to look out for jobs atleast prospects before leaving the job. I have applied in monster, cwjobs but no response as of yet.

Anyone who knows some agencies who have responded to them, please post. It would be of great help
