That's not normal. Indeed looks like a sneaky move to catch people unawares.

Indeed sneaky move, they might have seen a high volume of applications made in the month of March/April 2011. They reckon the same after 5 years especially for tier 1 to ILR.

There are many visas that lead to ILR, not only Tier 1 with 5 years residence. HO can increase fees earlier if they wish to, it is their prerogative.

Mian1,

You will have to seek for application forms at the earliest date.

CR001,

I only mentioned Tier 1(g) because, as it was a closed down category in 2011

And Ofcourse ILR can be obtained in other categories as well.

If it is their prerogative to increase whenever they wish, then there is nothing sneaky about the whole show.

Sneaky in the sense that it has usually only been w.e.f. 6th April and all are used to it being as such. But of course HO can move the date forward or backward if they wish to.

I guess nothing much can be done on the start date when home office wants to implement the increased fees.

One question - We can book PEO appointment 42 days in advance. In a situation when say I need an PEO appointment on the 27th or 28th April, the PEO booking can be done on the 16th or 17th March.

So the question is - if a PEO booking is done before 18th of March for an actual appointment for April (or any date after 18th March) - do they charge old fees or the new fees at the time of booking.

Moderators can probably answer based on previous years experience.

Cheers,
Jacob.

If you book and pay for your appointment before 18th March, you pay the current fee. No extra is asked for at appointment. If you book your appointment on or after 18 March, you have to pay the new fee.

Hi all, I'm able to make my booking this week to be 42 days away from my planned date but I can't only book 4 weeks away? Is there any way I can book another way? If I wait another 3 weeks I might have to pay the new fees! Thanks.

There is no other way to make a booking and for whatever reason (intentional or not) there is currently a delay in releasing appointment slots onto the system.

Ok thanks, I've been trying Sheffield but it's only within next 3 weeks, might have to go to solihull then to avoid the extra fees!

Hi,

My NCS appointment is on 29th March, but just came to know that the fees is increasing on 18th March. In this case, what are my options? I will call them up tomorrow to check if they can give me an appointment before 18th March (I checked online and there was no appointment available), but how helpful are they in such scenarios.
A long shot, but as I took the appointment before 18th March, is there a possibility that I be charged the old fees for naturalisation.

Thanks
Abhi
