You've selected two of the counties with the highest cost of living in England! :|

You will need to notify your current council of your 'change in circumstances' if you are moving. Your HB will be stopped.

When you are in a new area, you will have to apply for HB again with whichever council you fall under.

You cannot 'transfer' housing benefits as easily as that unless the council is housing you or found you a home following eviction.

I don't think there is a way to check. Most counties and councils around London have very long lists where some people have been waiting for years for a property.

How big is your family?

...and unless I'm mistaken, I believe you have to be living in the Council borough before you can be added to the waiting list.

That would be correct yes. The only exception is if it was through eviction.

But Scotland Landlord/tenant law and processes are different to England.
