ceremony query

Post by _Angel_ » Sat Mar 12, 2016 11:02 am

Hi guys,

I have received my citizenship approval letter today (12/03/2016) which was dated 07/03/2016. I am currently out of country and will be back on 07/05/2016. I have also received my ceremony letter today for 23/03/2016 from local council. I am thinking of rescheduling it for after 07/05/2016. Is there anything that I should consider which might cause problem if I reschedule it?

Thanks

"We expect you to arrange to attend a ceremony within 3 months of receiving your invitation otherwise it will expire and you will have to reapply for
naturalisation and pay a further processing fee."

Thanks Casa. So, as long as I attend the ceremony within 90 days from 07/03/2016, I should be ok? Right?

Give them a call and get it confirmed, they might have a different way of calculating or the rule could change in the mean time, you never know
call them and make sure
cheers

Thanks for input. I personally trust more on moderators of this forum than home office call center.

Thanks

I think he means contact the council organising the ceremony.

It's essential to confirm the Council have availability within your timescale for the ceremony. Many get fully booked well in advance.
