I HAVE DONE MASTER IN COMPUTER SCIENCE FROM KARACHI UNIVERSITY PAKISTAN CAN ANY ONE TELL HOW MANY POINTS I CAN CLAIM FOR THAT PAKISTAN MASTER DEGREE IS EQUALIVENT TO UK BACHELOR DEGREE SO SHALL I CLAIM 30 POINTS OR 35 POINTS.

Well..dear
if u r talking abt KU MCS..ur degree is euivalent to UK Bachelor's so u can claim 30 points..for sure

I am just curious to know why NARIC considers the Masters degree from Pakistan to be equivalent to Bachelors.

Hey prem12,
not all master's degree of pakistan being considred as UK bachelor's dear. its matter of no. of yrs of ur education. in Britian standard graduate is atleast 3 yrs bachelor's and in some uni it is four yrs bachelors. In pakistan, some colleges have 2 yrs bachelors and then after that 2 yrs master's so its total of 16 years of education, and a person has master's degree so if u compare it with a british standard, it is equivalent to British Bachelor's
But here in Pakistan KU and other pvt uni such as Hamdard and SSUET and many others also offers four yrs bachelor's degree after ur A levels/ Intermediate. after doing ur 4 yrs bachelor's if u do master's in pakistan, then it will be equivalent to Master's in any where in this whole world.

Oh.. Thanks for this. I have one more question. Is a 2 year bachelor equivalent to 4 year bachelor within Pakistan, say for govt. jobs and all.

And then someone who has done 4 year bachelors, where do they go for doing thier Masters, same where the 2 year bachelors go?

Hi,

I have MCS from PICS Lahore and 2 years BSc Punjab University. Now i am claiming for BSC level points (30).
my question is regarding English Proficiency, where:

Do i need to present letter from PICS (MCS College) only
or
From Punjab University (almost impossible to get) as well?

You can't claim english language Proficiency with these 2 degrees.

They only accept if you bachelor is of 4 years.

Better to go for IELTS.

Jd is right.You can't claim english language Proficiency with these 2 degrees. you can only claim it if your bachelor degree is 3years or 4 in my opinion . they consider only bachelor degree medium of instruction.

do not take risk you should Better to go for IELTS.
