Referee for Child MN1 form

Post by haqhash » Sat Mar 26, 2016 9:13 pm

Like many others my child school head teacher has refused to fill her reference as per their "policy" and i am hoping that GP will do the same.

So my questions please

1) Can my accountant (for last 8 years) fill as 1st referee? He knows us as family for this duration

2) Which supporting documents i need to attach with the MN1 form?

Cheers
Many Thanks

1) Yes.

2) For a referee - none.

For the applcation as a whole, it depends under which section of BNA you apply - read the MN! guidance and form.

Hi,

I had applied through NCS and I initially submitted forms signed by accountant for my child. The officer had advised that accountant will not be considered as referee for child application. Teacher or health visitor or GP are only the appropriate persons to sign on this. If you read the MN1 form carefully, there is no requirement that above professionals need to know the child for some time (unlike 3 years in case of adult application) HO can accept the above referees even if they know the child for 1 week.

NCS officer has then issued letters to the school (for my daughter 8 years old) and day care (for my son 2 years old) advising to sign on the form as a requirement for BC registration. I have then convinced to the school and day care to sign and submitted revised referees along with my application.

Hope it helps

Best of luck

As already mentioned, supporting docs depends on section of BNA - the guidance is clear so just follow the guidance.

Hi Easy ,
Thanks for your comments about the accountant. One of my friends used accountant reference and application was successful. The criteria for first referee is "One referee should be a professional who has engaged with the child in a professional capacity"

Now the accountant has been dealing with us as a family in professional capacity so i am not sure why NCS did not accept this for you.

May i know the council name please?

School was our first option but they made things very difficult for us and said that they will post the form directly to NCS (in other word they refused)

You seem to deliberately ignoring what noajthan is saying/asking.

On what basis is the child applying for MN1?

How old is the child?

Where was the child born?

What is your immigration status?

Sorry CR001/noajthan , The answers are below

Q: On what basis is the child applying for MN1?

Ans : It is BNA section 1(3) , child born in UK to parents who are now settled in UK

Q: How old is the child?

Ans: 3.5 Years

Q : Where was the child born?

Ans: UK

Q: What is your immigration status?

Ans: ILR

Please note that my wife is still not settled and has dependent visa. Can this affect MN1?

Many Thanks for your help

Wife's status is immaterial for a 1(3) application as your status as a settled parent nails it.

Hi,

NCS was Nottingham city

It's not a big deal as Ho can always get back to you if they are not happy with accountant as referee. You may have a second chance to respond as regards to referees. Seniors may confirm

Hi Easy,
Thanks for your earlier answer about referee.

Now gp has refused to provide reference as well....

Now I donot have any option but to go with Accountant reference...and then see what NCS has to say...

This is very disappointing as they kept form for 1 week and said that coz she has only seen the child twice therefore she can not do it

Hi All,
I would like to mention what NCS advised about referee

The lady told that for first referee you should at least try to get from school or GP but if they refuse they you can use accountant or any other professional (who had dealt with your family in professional capacity)

She told that she has lost the count of people who were not able to get reference from school....so do not worry if you can not get..i think this appears to be a policy of most of the schools

I hope above information will be a big help for most

Thanks

Dear Moderators and Members ,

We are having issues after the application submitted

1. Two payment methods were provided for application. First was declined but payment has been taken from second but still we have received payment declined letter from HO. (confused about it)

2. We have also received bio metric letter of enrolment saying to provide finger prints and facial image of child....do children need to provide finger prints? My child is 3.5 years

2) Not (fingerprints) if under age 6, according to this guide:

Children under 6 years of age have to attend biometrics for a digital photograph only.
