Cat D cash savings and source of funds

Post by gooner4Life » Mon Apr 25, 2016 9:50 pm

Hi

In a few months time my wife is going to submit her application using the cash savings route. However before submitting I just wanted someone to clarify whether or not were doing the right thing.

In April 2014 I won £130k in a lotto win and have kept well over half of that winnings in a account which I'll be using to bring my wife to the UK. When I received the money from Camelot PLC they sent me a confirmation letter sating my name, the amount and my account details.

At present I'm going to provide the following as proof
> confirmation letter of win
>bank statement showing money being transferred. (separate from the required 6 months statements)

Now I have the following questions;

Is the confirmation letter from Camelot enough to prove that the money in my account is indeed from that lotto win?

Will I be asked or my wife be asked to provide further information regarding the win even though I won back in 2014.

If someone could kindly help it would be much appreciated

The letter from Camelot + your bank statement showing the transfer of the funds will be fine. (in addition to the standard 6 months of bank statements).

sorry to be a pain but i forgot to mention something in the original post. Even though i won back in 2014 i have spent some of the winnings and have just over half of the winnings left (approx 65K).
will this affect the applicaion in any way.

Not as long as you have £62,500 remaining in your bank account. If you find you have less than this, do you have any income from employment?

im self employed but the amount that i make is no where near the required amount. so i'm opt in for the cash savings route. As far as the balance is concerned the amount is over the 62,500 mark. Would this cause any confusion or can i simply go with the Cat D route regardless of me being self employed.

one last thing whn i mentioned the letter stating the win can it be a transfer of funds credit advice. on it shows my name the account info as well as where the money is coming from camalot.

In which case just apply under category D with the savings. The paper/electronic trail you have from Camelot will be fine. You can also mention the Lotto win in the 'further information' section on the printed form if you wish.

Hi used Employment £ 19500 per year and Cash saving of roughly £ 45000 in the bank from last 8 months but i did not send any information that where these funds came from . basically i sold one of my property back home last year i do have some photo copies of sale deed and copy of power of attorney send to my dad attested by FCO . but the funds transferd in to my account from back home was through my dad friend deposited as cash not by bank to bank transfer.

My question is , is it mandatory to send explanation of source of savings ? if source D is elected along with Employment .??

Is it a routine that they ask for the source of savings ?

will it be a problem in case they ask why the money been deposited as cash instead of international bank transfer from back home etc .

thanks
