Lat full Financial year

Post by knowledge_seeker » Thu May 05, 2016 9:47 pm

I am applying for FLR (M) for my wife in June. I have my own limited company. I normally file my tax returns in October and pay my Tax in December. So, for the period April 2015- April 2016 I have not filed my tax returns yet. Being Director of limited company, do I need to submit financial documents for 2015-2016 or 2014-2015 would be fine? Not sure what they mean by last full financial year in the guidance notes.
Thanks

The last full financial year would be April 2015-April 2016. As you know, you are able to submit your annual self-assessment earlier than October as you have previously been choosing to do.

I think that is incorrect Casa.

As he mentioned he runs his own limited company so it is the company financial year - the time covered by the CT600.

As an example - I applied in December 2015. The financial year was my last filed one which was for the period Oct 14-Oct 15.

The standard financial year from april to april is irrelevant unless the company actually files at these points in the year.

To best of my knowledge last financial year mean ur company last financial year, like CT600 , april to april is for those who pay NI2 and are self employed without own limited company.

Trinity College A1 or A2

Post by knowledge_seeker » Fri May 06, 2016 3:17 pm

For the purpose of FLR (M), do we need A1 or A2? I know it says in the form that we need A1 but on Trinity college website it has two options:

1. Further Leave to Remain:
Family life as a partner of a settled person (Spouse/Partner)
Family life as a parent (Parent of a dependant)
A1 Speaking and listening
GESE Grade 2

2. Further Leave to Remain (extension visa):
Family life as a partner of a settled person (Spouse/Partner)
Family life as a parent (Parent of a dependant)
A2 Speaking and listening
GESE Grade 3

My wife is applying for the first time after she got her spouse visa.

Thanks

I took the OP's company's last full financial year to be April 2015-16 due to information given in the original post. Which they have now confirmed as April to April. Obviously not all Limited companies will have April as an end date. :|
