Long end date on cos

If someone puts long end date on cos such that it exceeds 6 years period then is yiur leave rejected or do they simply give you visa with end date of six years

Whether or not the visa is issued for upto 6yrs or rejected, it seems they will definitely ask for the increased visa fee if your end date is simply over 3yrs in the COS. Unless its clearly mentioned in the sponsor note. This is just my understanding after reading a few previous posts on here.
