Advice regarding flr fp

Good day every one.Just wondering if you can offer a bit of advice as I am feeling a bit confused. I was granted 2,5 years as parent under the 10 year route.I married my child's father at the end of 2015. I am due to renew my visa,should I apply as a parent as or as a spouse?Our relationship is a bit unstable and I won't feel secure being on his visa but at the same time i am worried that the home office might query why I am not applying as a spouse. Sorry to sound a bit confused and stupid.
