"certified copy if you can’t provide the original"

Post by sif » Sat May 21, 2016 11:43 pm

Hi Guys.

I am a german citisen living and working in UK I have all documentation I need for my wife, who ich from north africa. she will go to the consulat next week for the appointment with a copy of my passport. the problem is it s not certified.

I know german mates who sent just a copy of the his passport and it works very fine.

I have 2 questions:

1. should a normal colore copy of my passport do the job?
2. If it didnt work will the visa be refused and this could have i nimpac on the the same procedure with a certified copy of my passport.

It s just question of time I am little bit in rush. I already have an appointment to give all documents.

Thank you for reply.

The appointment is in the Visa Application Center in Morroco. My wife has all document required for an EEA family permit. 1. Valid passport. 2. Evidence of relationship and birth certificat 3. your family member’s valid passport or national identity card (or a certified copy if you can’t provide the original)???

the 3de point is in question now. Because I am in UK and she is in morocco I sent her just a scanned copy of my passport she will print it. but it s required that should be certified??

1. Will that copy be just fine because my german freind´s wife also did the same and all went well with a Not-certified copy of the passport?
2. If the applyment is rejected FOR the reason that the passport copy was not certified, will that have any impact in a next applyent with a certified copy of passport?
3. where I should certify it? in german consulat or in Postoffice?

I already have an appointment this Wednesday? should I postporn the appointment till I send her a certified copy of the passport?

MAny thanks for your help.!!!

Hi,

I had the same issue for my EEA FP application. They may refuse your application because it is not a certified copy. My wife was in UK and I was in Turkey. She certified it by a collague who is able to. But I think the easiest way is the Post Office. And you can send copies to Morocco by UPS. In my case it arrived in 1 day.

According to GOV.UK "your family member’s valid passport or national identity card (or a certified copy if you can’t provide the original)". I advise you to certify it and be on the safe side.

This address shows how to certify a document. https://www.gov.uk/certifying-a-document

But I think the easiest and fastest way is Post Office. http://www.postoffice.co.uk/document-ce ... on-service
