Travel outside UK during Tier 2 employer switching

Hi All,

I have been in UK with Tier 2 ICT established staff (Granted before april 2011, current visa validity till april 2017) and I got a new job offer from different employer. I switched my visa to Tier 2 general successfully. I've submitted notice to my current employer and the new employer joining date is next month (mid July).

My question here is, am I allowed to travel outside UK before the new employer work start date (mid July). Could anyone please confirm?

Yes you can travel as you have a valid visa.

I have one more query. My passport is valid only till 2016 November mid which is 4 months from now. Is there any requirement that i have to have 6 months validity on passport when i enter UK ( i will be returning to uk by july mid itself) ?

No there is not.

Remember that you will have to update HO when you renew your passport.
