Police came to my house and effect in naturalisation

Post by rpsarangi » Wed Jul 27, 2016 7:15 pm

Hi
I am really worried so I am asking you all members/moderators /senior members this question;
Few days back neighbor called the police that they are thinking some disturbance in my house. So police came and had a chat with me and wife and basically took mine and my wife details and DOB and address and where we work in their hand held PDA and went away . Did not said anything else as there was nothing happening in my house .

I am really worried as my Naturalisation application is due in next 2 months. My query is :
1. Why they took my details and things even though they didnt charge me with anything?
2. will they update that in the PNC or anywhere else?
3. Will they update the details in the Local police network.?
4. will this go against me during my application?
5. will HO be able to see that police came to me ?
6. should i declare that while applying?

please reply .
thank u in advance.

This is irrelevant unless you are charged with an offence.

1) Routine. And so there's a trail if any other reports/incidents.

4) Shouldn't do as nothing happened based on your outline.

6) No need. See #4

You live in Scotland?

Do you have children?

If yes, then in that case the Police will likely be sending a report of this to the "Named Person" for your kids.

Be careful friend. This is how they start "building a picture" in order to maybe take your children away from you. They'll try to paint it as an "abusive" household, or something like that.

Educate yourself:

Dont panic my friend , as everyone said , it would NOT effect your citizenship and you dont need to mention it .

@siavashes,
The member was worried and sought reassurance. Just as you have had various doubts resolved in the same way in the past.

I believe siavashes meant it is irrelevant to your BC application. In other words, it won't affect it.

Some neighbors are hard to deal with. Did you not ask the police what was the complaint (argument, unwanted noise, running mixer/grinder in the odd hours etc??)?

I don't have firm answers to your question but from what you said there is nothing on your name. Just a telephone complaint does not prove anything.

Some neighbors even complain about a barking dog in the neighborhood. Possibility is that you and your wife might have had some argument which made neighbor to make that unnecessary call.

Now the **main** point, even if HO finds this out he is not going to reject your application based on this. So relax.

Thank u for the reply :
Yes I did ask the police , they said that the neighbour had complained that there is some disturbance in the house . That's all they said . But absolutely there was no argument or anything was going on . I am very new to that address and I don't know what's the problem of the neighbour is .

Further I have visited the police to ask them what is issued, they have confirmed me that" absolutely nothing is issued in the name of u or my wife ".. No warning .. Nothing .. The case is closed .. Nothing to worry !

I will still go for the SAR from the police to see what they have in my name or wife name in the PNC .. According to my understanding .. HO can access PNC but I don't think they can te the local network .. ( just thinking ) ..

But the police said the report is quite clean that they have no concern on me and my wife . But it's recorded in the local police network as they had to visit my address to enquire

SA request and naturalization application

Post by rpsarangi » Sat Oct 01, 2016 2:36 pm

Hi all
I want to ask the members to be certain what to do before i send away my naturalization application.

Sometime back my neighbor called the police to my house citing that she thinks there is disturbance going on in my house. The police had a visit and they saw that nothing is actually happening and just took my and my wife details and went away. I did visit the Police station to find out if i have been issued with anything as the officers didn't say me anything on that evening. The police station said no.

Now i am in the verge of applying the naturalization for me and my wife. I have been advised by the solicitor to apply for the subject access from the Police to be sure that there is nothing ..like caution/warning/ reprimand in my name or my wife name.

My question to members:
1. should i apply for the SA from police?
2. If i apply can that go against my case in HO ( in case they think why did i apply for it)

please help me and suggest what to do?

thank you all.

No need for multiple posts.

Post merged with same question you asked in July.

Presumably you have received your SAR/FOI requests by now.
