Help required - HSMP rejected

Post by richie_rohan » Mon Dec 17, 2007 1:16 pm

Hi All,
I got letter from HO today stating that my application has been rejected because of following reason.

"You stated that you have a degree eqvivalent to UK bachelor's degree. The name on the degree certificate is different to the one stated on the application form. No official evidance has been provided to confirm the change of name"

i.e My name on degree certificate is "FirstName FatherName MotherName Surname". And name on other documents is only "MyName FatherName Surname".

Document submitted:
1) Degree certificate + NARIC certificate.
2) Bank statement + Salary slips.
3) Birth certificate.
4) Letter from University for English language.

Is it worth to send it for review.

Regards.

But I dont have any supporting document in the existing documents submitted to justify the verification.

Will only my justification work?

i don't know.

If it is just the case that, for example, your passport reads 'Ritchie John Singh Rohan' and the other documents say 'Ritchie John Rohan' then I think the refusal is very harsh.

But on the application form, only first name and last name is asked to fill.

How can HO say that name does not match?

On Degree certifiacte usually format is first name + middle name + sur name. And on application form they have asked only first and last name.

Richie, What name did you write in Applcation form?

You need a court affidavit which should explain the name change.

Just to check! If i do get a letter from my employer confirming the salary should i ask them to mention the amount only for the earning periods claimed or for the whole period i worked for the company? and is an employers letter can be used instead of bank statements as 2nd proof.

Just out of courosity! if we cant give P60's as Tax doc.s for UK earnings , then wht kind of Tax doc.s are accepted by HO. Im sure they dont consider P45 at all.

No need to hijack this thread with a question you have already asked.

Thankyou all for your replies.

Actually the name on my
degree certificate is: "Rohan FatherName MotherName Surname"
Name on application &
other document is: "Rohan FatherName Surname"

Degree certificate has my mother's name as well. :(

Can someone suggest what explanation shall I write to HO as my other documents doesn't contain my mother's name on it.

i guess you require name variation certificate - stating that all the name variants you have are one and the same.Get it done from any notary.

thanks.

One question can I add extra document while review. I believe I can't do so.

They should not have refused for this. A letter of explanation should do it. This is just appalling.

Name

Post by Junior0300 » Tue Dec 18, 2007 9:43 am

If your name is 'Ritchie John Singh Rohan' then in UK

Your first name would be Ritchie John Singh &
Your last name would be Rohan

Most government databases (Inland Revenue, HO etc) are designed in a way that they store the names this way.

ok, so what I got from your response is, I should have entered my First name as "Rohan FatherName MotherName" last name as "Surname".

But ideally how can someone know this?

The last word in your name is your last name. The rest of the words will be called your first name, thats the rule followed here.

ok, but as I mentioned earlier the name on my Degree certificate has my mother's name on it. But none of the document which I submitted has my mother's name.

So would it be worth explaning the case worker and send the documents for review?
