How recent Docs? Land reg Title deeds.

Post by SAMISPOUSAL » Fri Sep 16, 2016 11:08 am

Hi all
Please help
We bought our house a year ago
The Land Registry Title docs are dated January 2016
Will they accept a 10 month old Land Reg doc ? or do we need a more upto date version ?
Does the 28 day rule apply to this type of documents as well ?
Yes I know its only about £3 to get a new one but has anyone had this experience ?

CR0001

thank you for polite reply
Do you think they would accept a 10 month old land Reg Doc ?

I cant see the whole application being rejected just because the Land Reg title doc is 10 month old BUT PLEASE ALSO REMEMBER THAT WE ARE NOT SUBMITTING HOUSING REPORT as well ( we own the house and there are just the two of us)so there is a combination of these issues on the accommodation criteria

A title register is dated when you buy a house, this can't be changed. If you can 'spare' £3 and it makes you feel more confident, then get an up to date one.

In my case there has not been a change and I could strongly say on my application that there has been no change and so this document still contains the same info.

But a change could take place ( sale etc) so may be the doc perhaps needs to be more recent ?

Title register or property deeds DO NOT have to be within 28 days old for a visa application.

I understand that the deeds do not have to be dated within the 28 day period but when we apply later this year, I will just download a new copy. For £3 it is worth it!

The title register copy (£3) from land register is NOT the same document as the deeds.

Oh sorry! I did not realize that. That is all we have though, the £3 document from Land Registry.
