Vignettes

Hi,

My wife received her spouse visa today. I am a bit confused... the accompanied letter states.. " you have permission to be in the UK from 29th October 2016 to 29th july 2019".

But it states the vignette sticker is valid for 30 days. Does that mean from today or 29th October? Can she travel straight away or not?

It means that your wife will have to travel within 30 days and collect her BRP from the designated Post Office in the UK within 10 days of arrival.

So yes, she can travel straight away.

Right now. Or as I've already said in my last post, she can travel straight away.

She must arrive in the UK within 30 days of the issue date of her vignette.

No we put 20th September but only got the visa today


What i am confuaed about is... that the later is dated 29th September... but vignette is valid from 29th October... so does she have to travel betweeb 29/09 to 29/10 ... or 29/10 onwards but not before?

There seems to be a mistake somewhere.

As it stands, I don't think that she should travel before her leave is valid.

Valid from 29/10/2016 to 28/11/2016.

But the letter states vignette is valid for 30 days from date of issue.

Is there a date of issue on the vignette?

The term "date of issue" on the letter may be misleading. The letter probably refers to the effective date.

The vignette is valid between the given dates.

The vignette should have a date on it - my wife's had a date which started 3 weeks after she collected her passport so I am pretty sure your one is the same situation. I.e. She can travel from the 29th October as stated.

Hi,

I have just checked - visa (vignette) valid from 29/10/2016 to 29/11/2016 - I wasn't aware that after the visa has been issued you have to wait for the specified travel date. The cover letter was a bit misleading.

Grr annoying had booked annual leave from work ... will cancel it now and go get her at the end of the month!
