Decision Made

Post by TroyNClare16 » Tue Oct 11, 2016 7:08 am

Hey All,

Hoping someone can shed some light on our application (Settlement HUsband)

We contacted UKVI yesterday to check the process of my application and were told it was waiting to be assessed by an ECO, unbeknown to me my wife also contact them and her response was as follows:

We understand that you would like to know about the current status of your
visa application. I have tracked the status (XXXXXXXXXX and date of 12rth
XX/XX/XXXX) and found that the application has been processed and a
decision has been made. For security reasons we cannot disclose the
outcome of the application by email.

Please note that your passport and documentation could still take some time
to reach you whilst being sent back from the decision making centre and
whilst other administrative formalities are completed. The visa application
centre will be in contact with you regarding the collection or delivery.

If you have purchased a courier service then your documents will be
dispatched to the delivery address you have provided. We appreciate your
patience while you wait to receive your documents.

We strongly recommend not to book prepaid travel and accommodation before
receiving the visa.

For any further details, or should you need to contact us again please
refer to our website at https://ukvi-international.faq-help.com/, select
appropriate country, click next and then select 'E-Mail form' and complete
as instructed. We will aim to come back to you within 1 day.

Kind regards,
Andrew

We called their contact line at nearly $3p/m to be told they couldn't tell us the answer over the phone due to security reasons?? Is there anyway to find out? Is this a good sign that it was processed so quick? We paid extra for a priority service. We also paid extra to be notified via SMS of any updates, but as yet have not received any.

Why do they make you wait to pick up your documents for an answer? Do they not know how stressfull it is?

Is it common for a settlement visa to be processed so quickly when 24 hours ago it was waiting to be looked at? We had a MASSIVE amount of supporting documentation for them. Could they have gone through it that quickly? Would they have seen their is MORe than enough evidence and ok'd it?

Apparently it will take 2-3 business days for my documents to come back.

I hope someone can shed some light on it for us.

Cheers,

Troy

Its unlikely it was waiting to be looked at 24 hours ago. We had similar fun and games with the "helpline", even being told by one genius that we had to wait "5 more days" when in.fact the visa had been processed and was on its way. They are notorious for making it up as they go along... :?

@KatieWills - Did you receive a similar email? Hopefully yours was approved.

I have received a driving bans (drink driving/over the point) twice in the last 17 years and worried they could reject us because of this. We did inform them although the drink driving is a spent conviction, I was young and stupid.

Yes we had a similar email the same day as being told we needed to wait a further 5 days, the email was only sent after we made an enquiry. If we hadn't enquired I don't think they would have informed us.

Try not to overthink, the waiting is the worst part. Good luck and keep us posted.

Edit: Yes hubby was granted a visa, 10 working days in total using the priority service in NZ.
