Self Assessment TaxReturn(Tier1 Entrepreneur 5/10 Years ILR)

Post by Jewel15 » Wed Oct 19, 2016 6:41 pm

Dear Respected Members,
I am on Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa. I am the sole director and shareholder of my company since 2013. My accountant didn't file my self assessment tax because my personal tax liability was zero. I did not take any Dividends. I never received any notice from HMRC to file self assessment. My corporation tax returns were always filed on time and paid on time.

In 2017 i will full- filled my 10 years LR & year after i will full filled my 5 years under Tier 1 Entrepreneur. One of my friend told me, as a director by law i must have to filed my self assessment tax. My accountant saying- 'i do not have to do'. Now i am really confused and worried about it.

1. Do you think i should submit my last 3 years Self assessment tax return now?
2. if there is any penalty for late return, do you think that will affect in my ILR application? OR;
3.I should leave as it is!

If some one give my questions answer that would be really appreciated. Specially i am waiting to hear from our respected guru Zimba88.

Kind regards
Sandeep
