Child MN1 Application with passport about to expiry

Myself and my son are now in ILR visa which are granted in Dec 2012. Now I am planning to apply British Naturalisation for me and my son at same time through NCS.

My son's current passport (Indian Passport) going to expired in 28th Dec 2016. As British Naturalisation takes minimum 3 months time or more, there might be a chance that my son's passport will be expired when case worker is going to review my son's naturalisation application.

1. Is this going to be a problem for my son's naturalisation application?
2. Do I need to renew my son's passport before applying for British Naturalisation?
3. Or Can I renew my son's passport after submitting application at NCS?
