Issue with P60

Post by back2uk2 » Tue Nov 08, 2016 11:24 am

hello,

I am on Tier 2 and going to apply for ILR based on 5 years.

I moved job in early 2014, so P60 for 2013-14 was issued to me from my current employer. This P60 I am planning to submit along with the SET O form, however I noticed that this P60 shows earnings from current emplyment only and doesn't show the earnings from previous employment (which constitues almost all the financial's years earnings).

Can this be an issue while ILR ? Looking at the P60, it seems like I earned hardly anything during this year. And the caseworker might be cross checking whether I have earned atleast the minimum salary for the SOC code that I belong to.

Looking forward for your suggestions.

Thanks.

Sorry, I forgot to say that I indeed handed over the P45 from previous employer to the new employer.

Did you check with the employer whether they can give you a copy of that P45 or original if they have?

I think it is the law that your employer should keep all the original document/copy and copies of any communications they send to the employees at least for a certain period(years).

Hi Anoop,

I am going to ask them but don't know whether I will get all this sorted out with the past & present employer before next month, which will be my ILR application month.
If this can be an issue with ILR, then I would need to postpone my ILR application date.

Thanks for your advice.

I mean ask your current employer whether they have the copies of documents you submitted. All the best.

Is P60 mandatory to be included ?

Becasue of this issue, now I am thinking to avoid submitting P60, it might cause more damage than good.

Is there any alternative document that would need to be submitted in case P60 is not submitted?

e.g. bank statement for 5 years showing salary credits every single month ?

For the issue with my P60, now I have requested for an employment history from HMRC.

Any suggestions/advice if this will be sufficient and there will not be any need to submit the P60s.

What checks do UKBA with regards HMRC (NI, tax, income etc.) for Tier 2 employees ? And what homework can I do to make sure I am all OK in view of HMRC (and so for UKBA)?

There is no UKBA; it was disbanded in 2013 as not fit for purpose.
