Reg Security Clearance

Hi,

My potential employer says I need Security Clearance to work for them.

They said they can let me join conditionally on Security Waiver subject to Security clearance later.

Does anybody has more idea about the same ?

Is there any issue for overseas candidates in Security Clearance ?

Has any body went through or requiring Security Clearance ?

First requisite for Security Clearance is being british citizen or i think maybe national from one of the comonwealth countries.
If you are from one of those, call the territorial army and ask them about it....

is it a security check you need or police check. cause i would think the security check they would do by themselves, and the police clearance is straight forward enough to get. what profession are you in

yes, please confirm the type of check requested by the potential employer, then you can find out the scope of the check.....

try-one, thats why we are asking to clarify what check it is exactly. because it might very well be that its a police clearance that he needs and should get if he hasnt done anything dodgy in the past or like you rightfully put it, it might be a more scrutinising check, for which amongst other thing you might need to be a permenanent resident or citizen.

well, i am in software developmenr and the employer said that the work they have is government work so they need security clearance.

They said it shall be more or less basic check only where they shall contact the references and may enquire with indian govt giving my passport number.

Has some body else gone through this ?
