I have a unique query where I need some help. I am currently Employed as "Information Security Analyst" role. This is my 2nd job on this role. Before that i was with another company. We have always choosen SOC Code 2139 on the basis of the fact that this is the only role which talks about Security in example responsibilities
examines IT system for potential threats to its security and integrity and draws up plans for disaster recovery if security is compromised;
deals with and reports on breaches in security
There is another Oppertunity in the same company for the "Information Security Project Manager" Role. This is the Job description.
Key responsibilities are:
* Design, develop, document, and finalise efficient and effective governance and operations processes for business driven security monitoring solutions
* Support construction of business case for implementation of new security solutions
* Engage business units and key stakeholders, including providing updates and gaining approval and buy-in
* Working with project manager, assist with planning and monitoring development and implementation
* Create and update policies, procedures, and guidelines as required, including socialising any changes with key stakeholders
* Requirement analysis to identify appropriate rules, based on business value, for content monitoring and inspection
* Design and develop metrics to support measurement and reporting of security monitoring and information loss prevention
* Help ensure effective communication between business and technical teams
I have not currently applied because in our company when we apply our existing line manager gets notoified.
I have myself read home office guidelines and assuming if employer is same and soc code is same then change of employment is not required but i am thinkng how to find it out.
Personoally if i see i can still use
2139(That is only security SOC Code) but
code
2133 and 2134 are IT Specialist manager and IT Prroject managers
and surely some bullet points correspondn to them, which one i choose.
Lastly i am thinking if i choose 2139 then it is anyway not going to be validated because when i apply for ILR ,then my employment letter just mentions that i am on xyz job title, xyz saalry and xyz SOC Code. It wont mention job responsibilties in the ILR Letter however there is a risk that case worker might like to see job responsibilities.
I believe in my scenario i can keep 2139 and accept the new job because in few months i am due for ILR.
I am really confused. Other option is i go to HR and ask them to confirm me if accepting this job changes my SOC Code and if they say NO then i Select that onee.
I am really thnking what to do. I hope i have explained my scenario well.
Can someone give me best advice in this scenarion. In case if i am not on same soc code, i wouldnt bbother to apply
