Sending Non-EU employees to EU countries

Post by asrmba » Wed Dec 07, 2016 5:12 pm

Dear Experts,

We're a small start-up IT firm based out of UK and India. We've identified few opportunities in the European market, hence reaching you out for an advise.

Business case:
- If we wish to send our India based employee to deliver IT projects in any of the EU country(not any specific country as of now) on a work visa, what is the procedure? as if we don't have office in that european country.

Pls advise and point us to the right direction.

Thanks,
Kumar

Get a business visa for each person for each target country.

Dear noajathan,

Thanks for your reply.

does the business visa is for visits/meetings just like USA Business Visa or does this allowed a paid work? ideally our employees should be at the customer site for over 6-12 months.

Pls advise.

Thanks,
Kumar

There is not one universal business visa for Europe - you will have to engage with and research each country.
But you clearly need domestic business (work) visas per country rather than a visit (Schengen) visa.

AIUI Schengen Business visa is for meetings and presentations etc, sales pitches and their ilk, for actual work, it's local Work Permit.

My then non-EU partner needed one in Germany, do to actual productive work, whilst later to see customers in Switzerland for sales meetings, business visa was fine.
