Hi,

I started to work in UK since May 2007. Prior to that I was working in India.
If i consider only my UK pay for 8 months on pro-rated basis, I qualify for HSMP. I donot qualify with my Indian Earnings.

I need to know
1. If i can apply for HSMP approoval with showing only 8 months of UK salary. In this case do i need to show 4 months (Jan - April) of Indian salary to make it 12 months?

2. I need the cover letter where someone has applied for pro-rated salary.

Hiya,

You can ONLY apply on the basis of your UK Salary for 8 months, prorated to 12 months, since the majority of your stay has been in the UK. You may, however, need to show your India payslips for the remaining 4 months to complete the picture.

Simply explain in your application form exactly what you wrote in here and request exceptional consideration.

I understood that I have to show only earnings of May - Dec. Could someone help me with what I need to put in the questions in this case:

Q26. Start date of earnings period claimed: will this be May 2007 or January 2007

Q27. End date for earnings period claimed: December 2007
Q28. Please insert the relevant country code from the guidance notes:
I need to just put A (United Kingdom) and not India ?
Q29. Country where income was earned: only UK and not India
Q30. Amount you earned: Do I mention the income for 8 months only or pro-rated income

I am putting the following text in Exceptional consideration, please let me know if this is fine

I started working in UK from May 2007. Prior to that I was working in India. I am claiming points for period May 2007- December 2007 on pro rated basis. ( 19210/8 ) * 12 = 28816
As this period is in current financial year, I have not yet filed the Income Tax return, so I am submitting the wage slips and bank statements.
Also provided copy of passport & work permit with entry stamp to UK and my deputation letter.

I don't think you can calculate your salary in that way. What I understand is Applicants need to show the actual earnings.

I would suggest you to read HSMP FAQ on official web site and if required contact HSMP customer care for your query.

You need to show the docs for the past 12 months, and put the past 12 months as the claimed time, but they will pro rata UK earnings so you should be okay.

Could you please let me know what do i put for :

Q29. Country where income was earned: Only UK or Both UK & India ?
Q30. Amount you earned: Should this be the sum of UK (8 mths) & India (4mnths) or only UK???
