Entry to UK with a EEA (FM) Residence Card

Post by mard2530 » Mon Dec 19, 2016 4:31 pm

Good afternoon,

I just want to know if there is any law what says that EEA Residence Card holders (issued in UK) have to be stamped on their passport.

I have gone out and come back to UK and every time they've asked me to queue on NON EEA lines and fill the landing cards, I have friends with the residence card and they've passed for the EEA line even when they've been without their EEA Families.

I have tried even with my husband and I've got the same answer: "go to the other line and fill the landing card" and they stamped my passport and write down the card number on it.

Regards,

Under EU law EU nationals and family members should not be stamped into country.
Clearly described in UK BF Ops manual too (there are various versions floating around on WWW):

We sometimes use the UK passport queue, or the EEA queue, or whichever is the shortest.

My wife has her Chinese passport open on the UK issued Residence visa page when she hands over both our passports together, my UK passport.

They don't stamp out of UK, or on return to UK.
They just look into my passport to check it is my name matching the EEA family members name on her Residence visa.

We still keep a spreadsheet of all days we are on holiday, ie, when she is outside UK, just for simple recording.
