Payslips & Letter from Employer

Post by harpreetjagdey » Sun Jan 01, 2017 6:27 pm

Hello all
I have a question regarding payslips and employer letter for my wife's visa extension.

She receives formal monthly payslips (NHS) and corresponding amount is shown in monthly bank statements. My question is whether we still need a letter from Employer confirming length of employment, type of service, salary etc?

If we show last 12 months formal payslips, can the employer letter be eliminated as case worker can see the full detail of wages for the past one year?

any help/suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

thanks
Harpreet

It is mandatory to submit 6 months payslips, 6 months bank statements and employer letter, even if the applicant is meeting the financial requirement themselves.

All departments of the NHS have an HR person, so should not be too difficult to get a letter.

Thank you for your reply.

Please can you also advise how cash savings are calculated?

If you are qualifying with savings the first £16,000 is disregarded.

Easier if you explain what the annual income is, in order to calculate what level of savings will be required to make up any shortfall.

It would also be helpful if you stated if the sponsor also works and what the annual earnings are.

Thank you for replies.
Sponsor, thats me, has started a new job in from sep 2016 with a gross salary of 37k. Prior to that I was working with another employer with a gross salary of 60k since Dec 2014 but was made redundant. I can certainly get the current payslips, employer letter etc to support income thingy but cannot get the letter and payslips signed from the previous employment.

Please advise if any further info is needed to calculate cash savings.

thanks

You don't need a letter from your 'previous employer'. It has to be from current employer and then you need to provide 12 months payslips and bank statements as sponsor to meet financial requirement.

When is your spouse applying for the extension?

What is her annual income?

That's a bit of relief if I don't need a letter from previous employer.

She is at 22.5k per year

She can apply using only her income then but will need a letter from employer.
