Did anyone applied Right of Abode - Certificate of Entitlement recently around November last year and got the RoA from Home office?

I have applied on 22nd November 2016 and received ack. letter 28th November. Still waiting for the approval.

I am in a very similar situation. I lodged an application early December and received an email saying my application was being considered on the 14th of December. I would be grateful if you could give me an update on you application. My application was lodged in the UK as I previously held it in my Australian passport.

I sent my COE application and received confirmation of receipt on 7th December 2016. No news until today. I was expecting them to take between 8 to 9 weeks. Really frustrating!!

Have either of you got any communication as yet. I am pondering if I should email them to inquire about reasons for the delay. It will be twelve weeks (60 working days) on Friday.

I received my passport back today, it should have arrived last Thursday but I wasn't in the property when DX couriers attempted delivery.

The processing timescale was 70 days from the date on the original letter acknowledging my application (14th December 2016) until the letter i just received confirming my application was successful (22nd February 2017).

A couple of things to consider:

* Christmas - I feel this delayed my application by 1-2 weeks due to the bank holidays
* Allow a week either side of your application for postage and processing. My letter is dated the 22.02.17 but the first attempt to deliver the passport wasn't until the 2nd of March.
* The documents were returned to my via a courier company called DX Couriers

I assume you did not receive an email. How is one supposed to know if the couriers misplace the passport? I am still waiting even though I received acknowledgement on 7th December 2016. I had also sent a First class Registered post return envelope. Crazy. Just need to hang in I guess.

Did you guys just send the BRP to prove settled status or the passports as well ?

The way in which the Home Office deals with these applications is an absolute disgrace. They obviously believe they can treat honest citizens with complete contempt. This would be unacceptable anywhere outside the most corrupt banana republic. It's high time these unaccountable bureaucrats were exposed to public scrutiny, if not by elected MP'S, then by the media. As usual it needs a groundswell of organised opinion to shift their political bosses - unless, of course, this signifies yet another desperate attempt by a flailing government to manipulate the immigration figures.

I applied for a RENEWAL of a ROA certificate almost three months ago. All details are completely unchanged from previous occasions. I now need to return to my home country urgently where my mother is seriously ill. I have been told that in order to obtain my passport which the Home Office has in effect impounded I need to send them a medical report on my mother's condition! In home conditions this will take at least three weeks to obtain added to the further time that the Visa & Immigration unit will then take to deal with this additional material. My only option in these circumstances is to demand the return of my passport, forfeiting the exorbitant fee imposed by the Home Office for "the benefits obtained from the immigration service" plus significant postal costs. This is a scandal of incompetent and arrogant administration which should be intolerable in a supposedly humane and civilised society. Is anyone going to call the Home Office and their government ministers to account for this appalling maladministration affecting so many law-abiding people?

Did you all receive a letter/email saying your application had been received? I sent in my appln for RofA two weeks ago today and have heard nothing yet. I know it's been rec'd because I paid for the tracking and signature at their end, and can see it was rec'd by them June 26. Payment hasn't come off the visa yet.

Do they only send the letter when they start to work on the appln?

I've got an answer to my own question.

I rec'd a letter of acknowledgement today, 2 weeks from the day they received my application. Payment was taken off my credit card.

Now nothing to do but wait!

I am in same situation. I applied for my Sons' RoA on 1st June 2017 and received acknowledgment email on 7th June. The fee has already been taken of my Credit card but haven't heard anything yet. Its more than 7 weeks now and we are planning to go to India early next month but have to wait for his passport now.

Just wanted to check when did you get a letter / email for biometrics? it's frustrating that it takes a long time for a very simple and straightforward application to process.

Are biometrics necessary for RofA? I haven't seen anything about that, and so far haven't had a request from Home Office to get them done.

Judging by some of these posts processing seems to be taking 2 1/2 to 3 months.

I applied early April and still have not heard anything and status showing awaiting decision. Due to emergency travel, I am going to recall my documents. There is an option to recall documents without withdrawing from the process - anybody tried that ?

I would be interested in knowing the process, just in-case mine goes beyond 6 months.

I wanted to travel as well but my son won't be able to return back as he doesn't have any valid visa yet (he was born here last year). Looks like I am struck here for some more time.

Its strange that it appears like people applied from outside UK getting their approvals faster than the ones apply within the UK .

When did you apply .. Early, mid or late March ?

From the forums and friend's experience, ROA used to take 2-3 months but now it seems to take longer. In my mind it is a simple check - Baby born in the UK and parents have ILR when baby was born. No other criteria. Not sure why it has to take so long

I have also heard that since baby is born here to ILR parents, he is British by law and so will be able to get into the UK. However there may be some extra checks at the airport (birth cert, etc). Not sure how accurate this is, or if they will actually stop the baby from boarding/coming in to the UK

I applied for my ROA at the end of Nov last year and thought I'd get it back after a couple of months ( as I have done in the past), big mistake ! I booked a holiday for early March , obviously my passport wasn't back in time so cancelled my application and resubmitted again at the end of April when I returned from hols. By this time the fees had gone up ( nice !) so I've been waiting since 27 Apr ( date of the acknowledgment letter) and still no word. Why is it taking so long now ? My sister applied in Aug last year and got hers back in Oct. Surely Brexit is not to blame ? Just getting fed up now. Looks like I'm in the same boat as everyone else here.
