Problem with delivery my documents! Help

Post by dj_iv » Tue Nov 09, 2004 3:36 pm

Hello everybody!
I sent my documents by SDS from Dublin one week ago. But it's not delivered! They wrote ADDRESSE NOT KNOWN.
I used this address:
UK
HSMP Team
Home Office IND
Heavens Walk
Doncaster Carr
Doncaster
DN4 5HZ
What's wrong here? And what I have to do?
Thanks

Strange that is the correct address for sending your HSMP application. Was your package returned back to you?

And why do you have UK on top?
UK
HSMP Team
Home Office IND
Heavens Walk
Doncaster Carr
Doncaster
DN4 5HZ

as against
HSMP Team
Home Office IND
Heavens Walk
Doncaster Carr
Doncaster
DN4 5HZ
United Kingdom

Sounds silly, but can you confirm with them that the address is in the UK?

If they still are unable to do anything then maybe you should opt for some courrier service. Its bizzare to say the least.

Ask them to enter the zipcode on a map like the one below

Hello,
It might be a problem because you have the UK at the top....maybe they are confused with the country bit..... I'm sure a courrier will be able to deliver it without any problems...

Sounds like the postal guy didn't know what country Doncaster was in. As an out-of-country, I always send my stuff with both 'ENGLAND' and 'UNITED KINGDOM' on the very bottom of the address, to prevent postal confusion. Thus far with this method, I have never gotten anything back as 'return to sender'.

looks like you left out UK or England there but the pple at AN Post should have noted that, especially as you were using SDS. i think you should use Swiftpost, instead of SDS. or even use the normal register post it will get there 2 days

I've just reseived this:

There was an attempted delivery on the 3rd November by our agent ANC Express Couriers and it was scanned NOT THERE, they have scanned the item return to sender yesterday the 9th November.
I will send you a delayed/missing item enquiry form which you should complete and return to SDS Customer Services, Freepost, GPO, Princes Street, Dublin 1. This will initiate an investigation into the matter for you.

Does that mean your package has been delayed? Hope so.
Send the package from a courrier service after it is returned to you. They seem to be clueless. Ensure that you label the address properly, add United Kingdom at the bottom and your delivery should be made within 2 days.

i think you were just unlucky, even without putting UK or England on the address it really should have got there, just examine the address on the document when you get it back. you could try 'swift post' it will get there in 2 or 3 days max.
