Continuous Period calculation start Date for ILR

Post by bisi1 » Thu Feb 02, 2017 5:32 pm

Hi,

Below given are my detail:

Entry Clearance date : 10 June 2012
Entered UK : 9 July 2012

I entered UK after 30 days of visa clearance.

What will be my start date to calculate the continuous period of stay in UK.
Will I be eligible for ILR from 14 May 2017 or 14 June 2017.

Thanks
Shiva

You can count from visa issue date and apply within 28 days before this date.

i AM VERY SORRY BECAUSE YOU CAN ONLY COUNT FROM THE DATE YOU ENTERED THE UK AND NOT FROM THE VALID VISA DATE. SO BE VERY CAREFUL BECAUSE THEY ARE LOOKING FOR SMALL REASON NOW TO REFUSE ANY APPLICATION.

Do not shout. Especially do not shout incorrect information.

For ILR(LR) applications, residence counts only from date of entry into the UK. Date of visa issuance is irrelevant.

For ILR(PBS) applications, residence can start from date of visa issuance if the date of entry was within 90 days of date of visa issuance. The gap between date of visa issuance and date of entry is accounted as absence in that scenario.

Thank you reply.

After reading posts, I think I can apply with date of visa issuance as start date bcoz I entered UK within a month. Thank you CR001 and Simon.

Thanks Shiva

One more question please

Below given are my detail:

Entry Clearance date : 10 June 2012
Entered UK : 9 July 2012
Joined the Uk company : 10 July 2012

I joined the company on 10th July although I i received visa by 10June bcoz i had to plan my trip.
So my employment letter will be saying i started my job from 10 June.
Will this be a problem?

Can i still use the 30 days although i was not employed with the company.

Shiva
