It might be too soon for them to send out invitation letters, considering the ceremony is still 2 months away. According to http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/WP ... 2#decision, invitations are sent out 4 to 5 weeks before the date of the ceremony. So they'll probably start sending them out in March.

Hi again. At the risk of sounding neurotic, anyone received ceremony invitation yet? Getting closer to 4-5 weeks left for the big day and no invite yet from citizenship department.

Amit0127, have you received yours yet?

I received my approval letter on monday which was dated 9th March. On the letter it said to get the payment and photos back within 10 days to be able to attend the 21st April ceremony. So I assume next week invitations will be sent out. I just posted mine off yesterday but with st patricks day tomorrow I doubt it will be with them till Monday so over the 10 day period.

Could you please share your timeline with us here. I've applied on First week of August and till now I didn't receive my approval, I got my second stage on 03-02-2017
Application Based On: married to Irish citizen from Northern Ireland
Applied On: 3rd October 2016 (new form)
Application received On: 5th October 2016
Acknowledgement and return of passport : 24th October 2016
Second Letter: 25th Feb 2017
Approval letter: 13th March 2017 (stating payment to be made within 10 days to get to 21st April ceremony)

Bear in mind this was my second application due to a mixed up about periods outside Ireland and I also pushed the issue via a few politicians, which seems to have moved it faster. Also from the forum spouse applications tend to be granted faster than some others.

Hi crisbella218, thank you very much. I received my approval in second week of feb. It has been more than four weeks since they received my fee and documents. I hope they send out the invitations next week. I see from the timeline thread that iCloud has already received one. So hope we're next.

Still haven't received the invitation. Called citizenship and was told they haven't started sending invitations yet. Surely this thread suggests otherwise.

Wasn't as anxious about the approval. Sent gnib, fees, etc five weeks ago now.

@madmedman

They have already rolled out the approval letters. Myself and another person on the forum already got it. No need to worry, you will definitely get it as you already sent the 950 euro. Few of my friends are also waiting.

So, don't worry much.

Thanks,

I sent off my cheque and photos last tuesday. As i'm sending it from Northern Ireland, Royal Mail has messed up and delayed it. I emailed the citizenship department yesterday and was told as long as it arrives in the next week should be fine for getting to 21st April ceremony.

So they will sent others 2-3 weeks before the ceremony by that reply.

Hope to see you guys there :)

Hi Crisbella,

My wife got approval letter (dated 16/3/17) on Tuesday 21/3/17. Can I know which bank draft you used as you have applied from NI.
Can we send a UK bank, bank draft ? as we are in UK presently it will be easy for us.
Thanks

I went to Ulster Bank in Belfast. As they have branches in the Republic it means they can create a euro bankers draft and have the money in their account in Dublin.

When you go in ask for a Euro bankers draft, they will have to ring down to their Dublin office for approval which can take a few hours. Then when you come back after approval they will write the cheque out for you.

I went to the one in Connswater in Belfast, which I found them really helpful. For my application fee I went to the one beside city hall and they said they couldn't do it! So if you get someone says they can't do it tell them they can!

Good luck!

Could you please advise what time ceremony starts on your invitation? I believe the it will be the same for everyone. I still haven't received my invitation. Sent bank draft and photos on 13th Feb (which is received by them on 15th Feb as per tracking on AnPost website).

Contacted the Immigration Service yesterday (Mon 27th March) and got a reply this morning (28th March) to say that invitations to the Citizenship Ceremony on 21st April, would be " "sent by post in the coming weeks". Hope this helps

I think there are a number of ceremonies at different times on the same day. They need to incorporate ~ 2000 or more applicants. So your time may not be the same.

I sent the fee and documents only a day after you and have not received an invitation yet. So no need to worry.

Got reply email from citizenship today that I'm scheduled for 11.50am on 21st Apr 2017 and the invitation in post will follow in coming days. so it looks like they are sending invitations in batches for different times.

Due to Royal mail delaying my fee and photos getting to the office from Belfast. I have emailed them as well asking did my documents make it and if I would be included in the 21st April ceremony. I sent my fee off on 14th march and only arrived on 23rd march.

So they have confirmed via email that I will attend at 2pm. Which is good cause I need to make my way down from Belfast that day. So there must be a 2 or more ceremonies on that day.
