Spouse Visa and passport expiring soon

My wife's passport will expire before the flr m runs out in December. Do we have to inform the home office?

No need to inform HO but she does need a valid passport to apply for an extension.

She will be applying for ILR in December.

Do you think we have to submit old and new passport when applying?
