Indian PIO card for minor

Post by LondonGirl » Sun Jan 20, 2008 2:31 pm

Hello,

I am planning to apply for a PIO card for my three month-old daughter who is an American citizen (through her father) and a UK resident. She is eligible for a PIO card through me (her mother) as I am an Indian citizen and through her maternal grandparents who are also Indian citizens.

I find the list of documents to be extremely confusing. If I am applying by post, should I send my original passport or a copy. What about my daughter's birth certificate - original? And what about my birth certificate -is this necessary? Shouldn't my passport be enough? Do I need to provide eight photographs or 4? How long does it take if we are applying by post? Does anyone know of any visa agencies that could help - what about Named OISC advisers?

Sorry for the long list of questions but the consulate website is next to useless!
