Student Loan deduction an issue?

Post by annonymous_1990 » Fri Mar 03, 2017 1:28 pm

Hi All

I visited an immigration advisor recently in reference to my payslips being suitable or not for my husbands spouse visa application. She pointed out that due to my student loan deductions being visible on my monthly payslips, it drops down my annual salary and they may not qualify under the financial requirements needed. This is despite me making more than £18,600 annual gross pay.

Im wondering if this is the case, surely paying off my student loan should not be casted as an issue considering I'm paying it off via my salary as part of other deductions such as pension and tax after my gross pay?

Any advice will be highly appreciated!

Thank you in advance

Student loan deduction does not affect the gross earning.

Hi there

I was thinking the same, however will it be seen as an issue because it is shown on my payslip as a spate deduction? She was encouraging me to get in touch with my payroll and have the words Student loan deductions removed "/

I don't see why I should do that since my 6 months payslips show more than the £1550 gross amount per month.

I might just be worrying for no reason but its the fact that someone from the professional line as pointed this out as an obstruction in my application so now im forced to think twice.

Many thanks
