NOC from landlord?

Hello

My in-laws and parents have visited a couple of times (on general visitor visa where I was a sponsor) in the past but we never provided a "No Objection Certificate" from the landlord. Someone told me that recently they have started asking for NOC from the landlord if you are renting a flat/accommodation.

I couldn't find anything related to this on gov.uk. Please can someone shed some light on this? Especially someone who has recently applied for the General visitor visa?

Not required for a visit visa as far as I am aware as a visitor is not going to be 'residing' for a long period.
