I wanted to share my experience when I applied for my wife's visa extension on the 3rd April at premium centre in Croydon
About me
I became a naturalised citizen on November 2014 through the the 5 year Tier 1 general route
About my wife
She applied for her spouse dependent visa on July 2014 from India and moved to London in August 2014. This is her first extension
About the application
1. We completed the application online and paid the NHS surcharge. Please complete and take a printout of the appointment with the NHS number
2. The documents we took
Application form FLR(M) for my wife
2 photographs for my wife and 1 for me (both with names and date from each of us added behind the photos)
NARIC English assessment and suitability certificate + letter from wife college + degree certificate
Marriage certificates from India
Letter of employment with salary details from my work
12 months payslip + 1 bonus slip + P60
12 months bank statement
Address proof from last 2.5 yrs for me + address proof of last 2.5 yrs for my wife
Birth certificate of our daughter
Passports of my wife and me
We also took photocopies of each of the above document
About the day
We went to the premium centre with our daughter and it was easy to get my wife to get her token number
The document submission and biometric were done very quickly but our waiting time was really bad
We submitted the docs by 10.45 but has to wait till 3.30 for the decision - we somehow were lucky with our daughter having a good day. So please make sure you have taken food and water for the stay (they have a cafeteria and you can also step out but if you are going with a baby please plan for contingencies)
Overall the decision was taken on the same day and it was favourable but the waiting time was very draining
