Post by cooldude143 » Tue Jan 29, 2008 7:41 am

Hi All,

I am claiming 75 points( Age 20 + Prev earnings 25 + Degree 30).In my prev earnings i am getting exactly 4902 Pounds which is my gross equivalent of Rs.386123.669 (As per oanda.com website on 31/12/2007).
Can you please let me know whether shall i apply for H since i am just qualifying.
I am producing enough evidences for the earnings, but bit reluctant bcoz of exact points.

Hi cooldude,
It does not matter whether you have exact figure by calculation ...The cuurency conversion varies from time to time ..
You have to say that on the day that you are applying the earning was blah..blah...blah

Dont worry......Go on and apply........Yu will certainly get the approval

Best of luck

Maybe you could attached some proof like a print out of the conversion from a site like xe.com since your case is on the border line...

just my thoughts... but someone else could confirm if this is necessary...

Hi cooldude,
As far as I know, the exchange rate that you use should be as on the date of your last payslip(which you use as proof to show your earning power). So you could take a printout of the exchange rate (xe.com etc ) on that date and claim points.

cooldude143,

It looks a big risk for me as HO will look for these kind of smal issues to talk to some application...never take such close calls..you can either wait for some hike in pay or wait for some time when pound value to come down considerably..

Cooldude...

As per the guidelines the currency conversion rate should taken as on the day of your last salary (12 months claimed period). So as long as all your salary figures are accurate in your salary slips and bank statements I think there should not be any problem in going for HSMP
