"Date applied for passport"

Post by Bastien003 » Wed Apr 26, 2017 10:35 am

Looking at the “Naturalisation Timeline” discussions here and there is one line for a date called “Date applied for passports:”

Some of you have put a date there even if they are still waiting for the citizenship approval.
Can you explain me why? Can one apply for a British passport whilst still applying for citizenship? I though one of the requirement to apply for a passport is to be a British citizen first. And then ask for the passport.
Thanks

These are members who have applied through the JCAP scheme (joint citizen and passport application) at NCS.

Passport however is only printed/issued AFTER the applicant is approved and attends their ceremony.
