EEA/NON-EEA Member lenght of stay

My wife (EEA national) and I got married in Aug 2003. Application for EEA permit was submitted in 2003 but was decided in 2004 for my wife and 2005 for me.

We are not sure when to apply for a permanent stay. Is it after 5 years from the time that we were approved by the home office or from the date we got married/living together or the day that we made ourselves known to the home office?

We are confused.

hi there i maybe wrong but i recon having read this post you have a 5 residency card. if that is the case you will qualify to apply for premanent residency in august 2008 and not before tehn . Others may have a different opinion

So, you reckon that our residency started counting from the day we got married. What about 2009 expiry dates on my passport?

I really do not think it bears any relevance after 5 years of qualification.

It should be noted that after a total of 5 years is completed as the family member of an EEA national exercising the treaty rights, you should apply for Permanent Residence using the eea4 form
